Looking back 2012 was an exciting one for J. Hunter Pearls. While our pearl production is still limited due to the damage caused by hurricane Tomas in 2010 we made positive marketing changes and were pleased to see our healthy oysters producing amazing pearls.

On the farms we continue to expand having tripled our farm leases and grow out sites. We have two new nursery leases, located on the other side of Savusavu Bay, from the Tikina Na Wailevu and two more grow-out leases from the Tikina Na Savusavu ,where our current leases
exist. These additional leases are necessary to house the numerous young oysters on our farms from both wild spat collection and our hatchery.

We have also been working hard to increase the overall quality of our Fiji Pearls and have implemented new farming methods based on research carried out over the
last few years.

On the marketing front for our export pearls we have formed an exclusive partnership with Jorg Gellner and his Germany based company Gellner. Jorg is an avid fan of Fiji Pearls and I sincerely thank him and his staff for their enthusiastic approach to selling Fiji Pearls and for relating our story to their distinguished list of buyers around Europe.

I also send out a very special thank you to my family and business partners in the United States, the Taylor’s. We have endured a tough couple of years on the farms in Fiji and their support did not waiver.

We look forward to another year of working hard to carry on the dream of producing some of the most beautiful and rarest pearls in the world. We wish all our pearl friends and colleagues around the world a fantastic year and thank you all for your continued support
